Parsio alternative with flat pricing per email

The best Parsio alternative for teams that parse mostly emails is a tool that charges a flat amount per email, whatever engine reads it. Parsio bills 1 to 3 credits per page depending on the parser, so 1,000 emails a month on its GPT parser use 2,000 credits and need the $149 Growth plan. ParsedMail parses those 1,000 emails, plus 300 attachment pages, for $24 a month billed yearly.

Who should look for a Parsio alternative

Parsio is a solid product with a lot of range. It has four engines (template, GPT, a pre-trained AI parser for common documents and an OCR converter), a free sandbox, Google Sheets export, post-processing, and plans that go up to 100,000 credits a month. If it is working for you and the bill is fine, keep it.

People start shopping around for three reasons:

  • The engine changes the price. A page costs 1 credit on the template parser, 2 on the GPT parser and 3 on the AI parser. The same 1,000 emails can cost 1,000, 2,000 or 3,000 credits, so the plan you need depends on which engine your layouts happen to require.
  • Running out stops parsing. According to Parsio's pricing FAQ, when credits run out the account still receives emails but does not parse them until the next billing period, unless you upgrade or renew early. Unused credits expire at the end of each period, so you cannot bank a quiet month for a busy one.
  • Developers want stricter delivery. When the parsed data creates a sales order or a payable, you want every webhook signed, an idempotency key on each delivery and a confidence score on each field, so your code decides what to post and what to hold.

If one of those is costing you money or sleep, read on. If not, the switching effort is not worth it.

Parsio pricing at real email volumes

Parsio's pricing page, checked in October 2026, lists these monthly plans in its comparison table: Starter at $29 for 100 credits, Starter at $49 for 1,000 credits, Growth at $149 for 5,000 credits and Business at $299 for 12,000 credits, with larger Business tiers up to 100,000 credits. Yearly billing is ten times the monthly price. The plan cards on the same page show lower figures for some tiers, so confirm the number at checkout. There is also a free sandbox with 30 credits a month.

ParsedMail counts emails and attachment pages separately, and the engine does not change the count. Here is the same set of workloads on yearly billing, assuming Parsio's GPT parser, which Parsio describes as its default for most documents:

Monthly workloadParsio credits (GPT parser)Parsio plan, yearlyParsedMail plan, yearly
400 lead notifications, no attachments800Starter 1,000 at about $41 a monthStarter at $24 a month
1,000 order confirmations, no attachments2,000Growth at about $124 a monthStarter at $24 a month
800 supplier emails with a 2 page PDF4,800 (email plus 2 pages each)Growth at about $124 a monthGrowth at $74 a month

3,000 emails with a 3 page scanned PDF24,000Business 25k at about $499 a monthScale at $249 a month

Two caveats keep this honest. If your emails have a fixed layout and the template parser handles them, Parsio's cost drops by half and the gap narrows a lot. And if you only parse a few dozen emails a month, Parsio's free sandbox costs nothing, while ParsedMail has no free plan. Our full limits are on the pricing page.

Where Parsio is the better choice

  • Very low volume. Under 30 credits a month the sandbox is free. We do not compete with free for a handful of emails.
  • Fixed layouts at high volume. A single vendor or platform that never changes its email layout is a perfect fit for the 1 credit template parser.
  • You need text from images without fields. Parsio's OCR converter turns scans into plain text for 1 credit a page. ParsedMail always extracts fields.
  • Common document types out of the box. The AI parser comes pre-trained for receipts, invoices and similar documents, so there is nothing to describe.

Where ParsedMail costs less and fits better

ParsedMail fits teams that receive a few hundred to tens of thousands of business emails a month and need the values in another system without a person retyping them. A distributor turning purchase orders into sales orders, a property manager logging maintenance requests, a travel desk tracking booking confirmations.

  • Predictable bills. One email is one email. A new sender with a messy layout does not move you to a more expensive engine.
  • Body and attachment together. The PO number in the subject, the ship date in the text and the line items in the PDF land in one JSON object. See purchase order emails to your ERP for a full example.
  • Built for code. Each delivery is signed with HMAC-SHA256, carries an idempotency key and is retried on failure, so a network blip never creates a duplicate order. Details are on the inbound email webhook page.
  • Confidence you can act on. Auto-post fields above 0.9, route the rest to review. That rule alone removes most manual checking.

When the parsed emails are supplier invoices that still need coding, approval and payment, the JSON can feed straight into your accounts payable automation tool instead of a spreadsheet.

How to switch from Parsio in a week

  1. Day 1. Create one ParsedMail inbox per Parsio mailbox. Copy your Parsio field names into the field description so your Sheets columns or webhook mapping stay the same.
  2. Day 1. Forward 20 recent emails from each mailbox, including the strange ones, and compare the JSON with Parsio's output.
  3. Days 2 to 6. Add a second forward or BCC so both tools receive live mail. Check the confidence scores and tighten any field description that comes back below 0.8.
  4. Day 7. Point your webhook or Zap at ParsedMail only, remove the Parsio forward, and let the Parsio plan run out at the end of its period.

You can test the parsing on your own email right now with the demo at the top of this page, no account needed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Parsio?

For email-heavy workflows, ParsedMail is a strong alternative because it bills per email rather than per credit and returns typed JSON with a confidence score per field. Parseur, Mailparser and Airparser are the other common choices, and Parsio itself stays cheaper for tiny volumes or fixed layouts.

How much does Parsio cost?

Parsio lists Starter at $29 a month for 100 credits and $49 for 1,000 credits, Growth at $149 for 5,000 credits and Business from $299 for 12,000 credits, with yearly billing at ten times the monthly price. A page costs 1 to 3 credits depending on the parser engine.

How many credits does Parsio use per email?

Parsio charges per page and treats an email like a document. A one page email costs 1 credit on the template parser, 2 on the GPT parser and 3 on the AI parser. Attachments add credits for each page, and re-parsing the same page does not use credits again.

What happens when Parsio credits run out?

Parsio keeps receiving emails but does not parse them until the next billing period, unless you upgrade or renew early. Unused credits expire at the end of each period, so they do not roll over.

Does ParsedMail have a free plan like the Parsio sandbox?

No. ParsedMail has a demo you can run on any page and a one time sandbox of 10 emails after you confirm your address. Paid plans start at $24 a month billed yearly for 1,000 emails and 300 attachment pages.

Can I keep my Google Sheets setup when switching?

Yes. Send ParsedMail results to Google Sheets through Zapier or Make, keep the same column names as your Parsio export, and the sheet keeps filling in without changes.
