ParsedMail vs Mailparser
ParsedMail is a Mailparser alternative for teams that receive emails in many layouts. Instead of parsing rules per template, you describe the fields once and a language model reads each email into typed JSON with a confidence score per field. Webhook retries and deduplication are included in every paid plan.
The main difference in one paragraph
Mailparser is rule and template based: you set up parsing rules that describe where each value sits, and those rules keep working as long as the layout stays the same. ParsedMail reads meaning. You write the fields in plain English, for example "order number, customer name, products with quantity and price, total", and every email is read against that schema whatever its layout. The trade-off is predictability of rules versus coverage of new layouts, and ParsedMail closes part of that gap with per-field confidence and a review queue for uncertain results.
Feature comparison
| ParsedMail | Mailparser | |
|---|---|---|
| How values are found | Language model reads the email against a typed schema | Parsing rules and templates you set up |
| New sender or layout | Usually works without changes | Usually needs new or adjusted rules |
| Output types | String, number, money, date, boolean, email, phone, url, enum, list, table | Defined by your rules |
| Confidence score per field | Yes, 0 to 1, plus an average | Not part of the rule model |
| Webhook retries and dedup | Included on every paid plan | Some sold as add-ons, according to its pricing page in October 2026 |
| Scanned PDFs and images | Read as images on paid plans | See Mailparser's documentation |
| REST API | Yes, plus synchronous parse endpoint | Yes |
| Free use | One-time demo and a 10-email sandbox | See its pricing page |
Pricing at similar volumes
Mailparser lists plans from $29.95 a month for 250 emails up to $299.95 a month for 10,000 emails, according to its pricing page in October 2026. ParsedMail prices by emails and attachment pages:
| Monthly volume | ParsedMail | Mailparser |
|---|---|---|
| 250 emails | Starter, $49 a month or $24 a month billed yearly (1,000 emails, 300 pages) | $29.95 a month |
| 1,000 emails | Starter, same price as above | A plan between its entry and top tiers |
| 5,000 emails | Growth, $149 a month or $74 a month billed yearly | A plan between its entry and top tiers |
| 10,000 emails | Scale, $499 a month or $249 a month billed yearly (25,000 emails) | $299.95 a month |
At the lowest and the 10,000 volumes Mailparser's list price is lower. ParsedMail includes retries, dedup and confidence in that price, and Growth adds the review queue and classification. The full plan list is on the pricing page.
When Mailparser is the better choice
- Your emails come from a few senders whose layouts never change, and rules already work.
- You need very low volume at the lowest possible monthly price.
- You want fully deterministic extraction where the same rule always gives the same output, and you prefer to maintain rules rather than review uncertain fields.
If that describes you, staying with rules is reasonable.
When ParsedMail fits better
- Many senders, each with their own layout, such as supplier orders or marketplace notifications. See order email parsing.
- Values inside PDF attachments, including line-item tables. See attachments and PDF parsing.
- You want typed JSON and a confidence score so downstream systems can decide what to trust.
- You want retries, dedup and replay without extra add-ons.
How to migrate from Mailparser
- List your fields. Take the field names from your current parsing rules and write them as one sentence in a new ParsedMail inbox. Keep the same names so downstream mappings still match.
- Test on real samples. Paste a few past emails into the schema test in the dashboard and compare the values.
- Run both in parallel. Add the ParsedMail address as a second forward or BCC, so both tools see the same mail for a week.
- Point your automations. Add a webhook endpoint for your app, or for Zapier and Make, and switch the destination.
- Change the forwarding. Update the Gmail filter, Outlook rule or mail server alias to send only to ParsedMail.
