Best email parser for ecommerce orders
ParsedMail is our pick for ecommerce orders that arrive by email from wholesale buyers, marketplaces and suppliers with layouts that keep changing: it returns typed JSON by webhook for your store, ERP or spreadsheet. Mailparser is cheaper at the entry level when a few senders never change their format, and Parseur suits teams that think in documents. Orders placed on your own storefront do not need a parser, because the platform already gives you structured data.

When an ecommerce store needs an email parser
A store platform records its own orders as structured data. The orders that do not arrive that way are the ones that cost time: a wholesale buyer who emails a purchase order as a PDF, a marketplace that sends "You have a new order" with the details in the body, a drop ship supplier confirming stock and ship dates, a B2B customer who just writes what they want. Each needs a person to read it and type it into the order system.
A parser takes that email and returns fields: order number, buyer, line items, quantities, shipping address, total, requested date. The decision is not whether to parse, it is which tool copes with your mix of senders at a price that beats the typing.
Email parsers compared for order emails

What 500 and 3,000 order emails a month cost
At 500 order emails a month, Mailparser Professional at $39.95 fits exactly, and ParsedMail Starter at $49 a month (or $24 billed yearly) leaves room for 1,000. Parseur needs its 129 EUR Starter plan, because 500 emails count as 500 pages and Mini stops at 300.
At 3,000 emails a month the gap widens. Mailparser Business covers 2,000, so you step up to Premium at $299.95 for 10,000. ParsedMail Growth at $149 a month (or $74 yearly) covers 5,000 and includes the review queue. Parseur Pro at 499 EUR covers 10,000 pages. At 150 emails a month the cheapest answer is Mailparser Starter at $29.95. Pick on volume and on how many layouts you must maintain, not on the headline number.
The hidden cost is rules. A template tool is cheap until the tenth wholesale buyer sends a different layout and someone has to maintain a template for each. A model that reads against a field list needs no new template when the layout changes. See ParsedMail pricing for attachment pages and seats.
How parsed orders reach your store or ERP
ParsedMail posts a signed webhook for every parsed email, and the order fields are at data.data.*. Three routes are common.
- A no-code tool. Zapier, Make or n8n catch the webhook and create the order, row or record in the destination.
- A spreadsheet or database. Airtable and monday.com boards work well as an order inbox when the team fulfils from there.
- Your own code. An endpoint verifies the HMAC-SHA256 signature and calls the store or ERP API.
Every event carries data.confidence_avg and data.needs_review. Hold back a doubtful total or address and send the email to a person, because a wrong ship-to is more expensive than a short delay. Save data.id with the order so a repeat delivery cannot create a second one. The field list for orders is covered in order email parsing, and sales from several channels in marketplace notifications.
Test with your worst order email first
Forward ten real order emails from each source and look at the output, starting with the ugliest: the PDF purchase order with the table on page two, the plain text email with the address in the signature, the marketplace message with two orders in one. Check the total against the line items, the quantity against the unit, and the ship-to against the original. If a tool needs a separate rule for each, multiply by the number of senders you expect over a year. The demo on the ParsedMail homepage lets you paste a real message without an account.
Once orders flow cleanly, the next bottleneck is usually stock. Teams that parse supplier and marketplace emails often pair them with inventory forecasting software so the quantities that come in are matched against what to reorder.
